It took me 20 something years to get hold of styling my crazy, curly hair. And even today it’s a work in progress as I hunt for the latest products for my hair texture. My current love? The Free Your Mane haircare line of hydrating, restorative products for curly tresses.

I L-O-V-E this product. In fact, I am now completely obsessed with it. The whole point of the brilliant restorative hair oil is to protect your hair from harsh environmental factors, heat damage and over-processing. For a gal who has put her curls through all kinds of torturous heat styling methods, Free Your Mane’s restorative hair oil is a miracle worker.
With this product, I noticed an almost instantaneous change in my curls. After working it through my wet hair, the strands felt velvety smooth and had a lustrous glow. Whether I’m wearing my hair curly, wavy or stick-straight, the oil helps keep frizz to an absolute minimum. (As a side note, I’ve read that it works great on extensions, too!)
Free Your Mane Daily Detangling Conditioner
The Free Your Mane Daily Detangling Conditioner is formulated paraben-free and is a very hydrating and nourishing conditioner for course, thick or unmanageable curly hair. After about two weeks of using the product, I noticed visibly smoother and softer hair. My curls were less frizzy and more defined with just the right amount of shine.
Even when opting for a straight style, the styling process was easier and the final look more sleek. The only thing I would say that I wasn’t crazy about was the conditioner’s smell. It’s got a man’s cologne scent to it. So, there’s nothing wrong with the scent, just took me some time to get used to it.
