Vaseline Beauty Secrets

Vaseline Beauty

My friends think I’m weird. For many reasons, but the one we’ll discuss today is my obsession with using Vaseline Petroleum Jelly as part of my beauty routine. Since the day I started wearing mascara, I’ve kept some on-hand as a quick and trusty eye makeup remover.

Long before that, I was using it as a lip, hand and foot moisturizer. Especially during the winter months, Vaseline petroleum jelly can be a lifesaver for dry skin. Apparently, I’m not alone because approximately 4 million Americans use the stuff.

So, I was thrilled to discover some other blissful beauty uses for Vaseline products recently. For example, you can create moisturizing blush by mixing a dab of Vaseline petroleum jelly with loose eye shadow in a pink or peach shade. Or, add a pinch of your favorite powdered drink to it for some homemade flavored lip gloss.

Oh! And speaking of lip gloss: I downright gushed over Vaseline Lip Therapy Original. New from Vaseline, it’s packaged in the cutest portable container and fits so easily into my makeup bag. (Even Vanity Fair is singing the lip moisturizer’s praises – so I can’t be that crazy!)

A combination that I really love is Vaseline petroleum jelly with Q-tips. I mentioned earlier how Vaseline is a great eye makeup remover. Well, I oftentimes use a Q-tip with a tiny bit of jelly to clean up mascara smudges and eyeshadow smears before completing my look. The new Q-tips Precision Tips make it even easier to do so because they’re slightly pointed at the top so you can really narrow in on the areas that need some touching up.

So, there you have it. Now you know my real beauty secret. Call me crazy – but it works! (And is super affordable.)

You can purchase Vaseline and Q-tip products at most retailers.
