Beauty products can be a very controversial topic. More times than not, one person’s must-have can get not-so-pretty reviews from someone else. In our Spa Girl circle, we run into the battle of the beauty products all the time but one product that recently got a unanimous seal of approval is Hourglass Superficial Lash Mascara.
Available at Sephora and upscale department stores, the trendy brand is the epitome of cool with contemporary packaging and cutting-edge products. Deeper than the surface appeal, we like Superficial Lash because it’s a surge of instant glam packed inside a tiny tube. Like promised, the formula plumps and lengthens for a dramatic lash line without looking over-the-top or cakey. At first sight, Superficial Lash resembles your regular old mascara. It doesn’t have a funky-shaped brush or high-tech application tube but what’s really unique about the product is the formula. Its thick consistency is different than anything we’ve ever used before and with a few swipes it sticks to lashes making them appear thicker without clumping. Plus, instead of just sitting on lashes, once dry it fuses to each lash for comfortable, smudge-proof wear.
Uniquely formulated with vegetable wax, the formula is waterproof and really sticks to lashes from the time we apply in the morning until we swipe off with makeup remover at night. The number of coats applied determines thickness level but even just a quick swipe gives a noticeable pop of jet-black color. The formula also provides a hint of lift and wakes eyes up especially if you’re running low on sleep. Rich in vitamin E, Superficial Lash conditions, protects and strengthens without the goopy, weighted-down look or feel. Like most waterproof mascaras, removal takes a little more than just soap and water but quickly dissolves with a dab of makeup remover. All and all, Superficial Lash gets our vote for lengthened, thicker lashes in seconds. Its quick, stays put and when we don’t have time to apply a full face of makeup it does the trick for an instantly put together look.
