With Earth Day right around the corner, I figured it was a good time to round up my favorite green beauty products. As AZ Spa Girls’ resident Green Goddess (okay, I gave that name to myself but they agree that it suites me), it’s my personal duty to inform of you of the latest trends in green beauty. Nothing makes me happier than knowing I’m doing something good for the environment and myself, and now I’m helping you do something good for yourself!
Nothing says ooh-la-la like a pair of voluminous eyelashes! To get the “come hither” look of pumped up lashes without loading up on chemicals, try Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara by Physicians Formula ($5.99). The name doesn’t lie. This mascara pumps up the volume in a major way. Organic, preservative- and GMO-free, this mascara does the heavy lifting of a non-organic brand but without all the harsh chemicals.
From eyes to smiles, lipstick can take your look from snoozes-ville to “heeeey, gurl” in a matter of moments. Because tangerine is having a major moment, try nvey ECO lipstick in shade number 360 ($29). This tangerine lipstick is smooth and long-wearing and since you eat all of your lipstick anyway (where else do you think it goes?), you’ll feel comfortable knowing that it’s 100 percent organic.
Be good to your epidermis with the peppermint body care line by La Licious (starting at $9.50). A Sugar Souffle Scrub whipped into submission and followed up with their body oil makes your skin feel silky smooth and totally touchable. La Licious is all about being kind to your body and to the earth, and that is why it is one of my favorite brands!
Treat your nails to something a little special with Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Anti-Aging Nail Lacquers ($16-$18). These nail lacquers (fancy way of saying nail polish) are DBP-, Toluene- and Formaldehyde-free. ProSina Protein Peptide is used to strengthen nails, increase moisture and assist in growth. I mean, what’s not to love about it?
If you’re looking for a great ant-aging formula, then look no further than Stages of Beauty Serums (starting at $52.99).
