Joyfully Delicious: Farmhouse Fresh Honeysuckle Blood Orange Custard

05/12/2011 by azspagirl

Oh my gourd. Someone get me a spoon. Stat. Farmhouse Fresh has unleashed another lovely jar of almost-edible goodness — this time in the form of Honeysuckle Blood Orange Custard Body Cream ($26). And I thought that their Whoopie! Cream was be-all end-all of body indulgences. Oh no.

New from this Texas-based team of gifted dreamers, the Honeysuckle Blood Orange Custard moisturizer is everything the name hints that it would be – a dollop of honey is blended with aloe and shea butter into a silky, pudding-like mixture that deeply moisturizes without being greasy.

The lemon-hued goo glides on your skin like butta and leisurely absorbs like a slow and thoughtful southern draw. It dries to a dewy finish and leaves your skin dancing with a delightful floral, citrus aroma. Go ahead, smell yourself. Fans of Farmhouse Fresh know that it’s perfectly acceptable.

The body cream is a actually a sophisticated little number. Half of the mixture is made up of aloe gel that uses a nifty technology to suspend live strawberry fruit cells throughout the gel. The strawberry cells contain unprocessed vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 and C along with potassium and magnesium to provide uber soothing benefits to skin. The other half is a whipped blend of Shea butter, soybean and rice bran oils for a surge of emollient hydration. The butter and oils soften and soothe even the severest of dry skin, while helping to improve the skin’s moisture retention and elasticity. Perfect for every day, the cream is also ideal for an after-sun skin soother.

The Honeysuckle Blood Orange Custard comes in a vintage jelly jar with a cute little wooden spoon for mixing, and is tucked in a printed jute tote bag that declares, “Mushed-up stuff is better for you!” And like all FarmHouse Fresh products, the cream contains no mineral oil, parabens or sulfates.

So here’s the bad news. The delicious body custard isn’t available until the end of May. But meantime, I would highly recommend a heaping bowl of Whoopie! Cream while you wait. You can thank me later! (Love the Splendid Dirt Mud Mask too!) Get Farmhouse Fresh at farmhousefreshgoods.com and select spas.
